The
Canadian Hairless Terrier Association is responsible for all
AHTs in Canada and will rescue any AHT in need in Canada. All
CHTA breeders will take their own dogs back from a family who
can no longer keep them. Any other AHT in need in Canada will
be placed with a fosterhome who can foster and the AHT and prepare
him/her for a new family. AHTs in our foster program are altered,
up to date on vaccinations, HW tested and on preventative and
microchipped. Once the foster family feels the AHT is ready
for a new family, he/she will be available for adoption. At
this time, we have no AHTs available for adoption. Please check
this page from time to time for updates and/or pictures and
bios of any rescued AHTs we may have available in Canada. If
you need assistance with an AHT in need of rescue, or own an
AHT and would like to find a new home through Canada AHT Rescue,
please contact
us
If
we have no rescued AHTs in Canada, you may find rescued AHTs
at Ratbone Rescues in the US. Please go to www.ratbonerescues.com
and check their available foster dogs for any AHTs available
for adoption.
Please note that you must fill in an application to apply for
an AHT from either rescue group. References, interviews and
home visit will be done prior to adopting an AHT from either
rescue. Since AHTs are so rare in rescue applicants with documented
allergies and a doctor's letter are given priority. There are
also many rescued Rat Terriers available though Ratbone Rescues.
Rat Terriers are a very fine coated breed and may also be suitable
for some families with allergies.
